Mr. Beloussov is a successful self-made entrepreneur and business executive with an outstanding 15-year track record in building, growing and leading high-performing, multi-national high tech companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Since 2003, he has been the Chairman and CEO of Parallels, a global leader in virtualization and automation software for consumers, businesses and service providers. Under Mr. Beloussov's leadership, Parallels has quickly grown to profitability and #1 market positions with its innovative desktop virtualization, OS containers and control panel product lines. He is also a Founder and major investor in Acronis, a global leader in storage management and disaster recovery software for consumers, SMBs and large enterprises. Previously, Mr. Beloussov co-founded and helped grow a PC manufacturing business to $150 million in revenue in less than 3 years, the S&W electronics company to over $500 million in only 8 years, and Solomon Software SEA - each of which has become profitable in the first year since inception." He holds a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. in Physics and Electrical Engineering with High Honors, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Mr. Zubarev is a founder and the president of Parallels’ Service Provider division worldwide including sales and operations for hosting and software-as-a-service (SaaS). Since the company's founding in 1999, he has held multiple leadership roles within the company including chief operating officer, sales engineering, product marketing and business development. Zubarev has been instrumental in building the company from its start to today with more than 900 employees. Zubarev was also a founder of Acronis and helped establish the storage management company's sales and marketing organizations in the United States. Previously, he handled product marketing for Pervasive Software and brought its first Linux product to market. Zubarev holds a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Mr. Bauert leads all general and administrative functions at Parallels, including finance, legal, HR, and IT. Prior to joining the company, he was EVP of Strategy and Operations at Fast Search & Transfer (FAST). In his role at FAST, Mr. Bauert was instrumental in growing the company from less than $30M revenue to almost $200M revenue, which ultimately led to the acquisition of FAST by Microsoft for $1.3 billion. Prior to joining FAST, Mr. Bauert held executive positions at various early-stage technology companies, including CFO at SalesDriver (sold to Carlson) and VP Corporate Development at Cybergold (sold to MyPoints). Mr. Bauert holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, an M.S. in Computer Engineering from University of Central Florida, and an M.B.A. from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College where he graduated with highest distinction as a Tuck Scholar.
Mr. Daniel currently leads the worldwide marketing and web teams for Parallels, including product marketing, web development, web programming, corporate marketing, and corporate communications. Prior to joining the company in 2004, he spent several years at Microsoft, leading a product management and business strategy team for SQL Server, a portfolio of database and business intelligence products. Daniel helped grow the business past $1 billion and helped launch SQL Server 2000, Reporting Services, SQL Mobile, and Notification Services. Earlier, he was a general management consultant in Strategy, M&A, Marketing, and Operations for A.T. Kearney where he focused on technology and manufacturing clients. Daniel began his career as an Operations Analyst at Capital One. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A from Harvard University.
Mr. Gold leads Parallels's business that provides software and solutions for the SaaS ISV and Telco markets, as well as strategic channels. Previously, he was the CEO of Sphera, which was acquired by Parallels. Sphera provided SaaS and application enablement software for companies such as AT&T, Telecom Italia and Japan Telecom. Prior to Sphera, Mr. Gold was Senior VP of Internet Products at Qwest, where he helped launch its full suite of IP products and services. He also served as President and CEO of Vicorp, Qwest's software subsidiary and as head of corporate and business development at Icon CMT Corp. Earlier, Mr. Gold held a number of sales and business development positions at AT&T. Michael holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana and an MBA from Stanford.
Mr. Steiner leads Parallels's business development efforts and is responsible for strategic alliances, technology partnerships and acquisitions. Ezequiel has more than 10 years of experience in the high tech industry including servers and infrastructure software. Prior to joining Parallels, Ezequiel spent several years in sales management and business development positions at IBM where he was awarded the IBM Role Model Award and was instrumental in the successful displacement of IBM competitors from major accounts. Previously, he was a consultant for General Electric, and worked for Xerox and Direct S.A. Ezequiel holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Portin leads the development of strategic relationships, channel sales, US business operations and corporate, educational and government sales for the company's consumer and business segments. Mr. Portin is a 17-year veteran of sales, channel development and operations management. He joined the company in early 2006 and built the sales and operations infrastructure to support the launch and dynamic growth of the Parallels product line. Prior to joining Parallels, he led the Western US VAR organization and the Internet Retailer business as Director of Sales for Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD). Mr. Portin has a B.A. in History from Washington State University.
Mr. von Varchmin heads Parallels' Software as a Service (SaaS) initiative. In this role, he is building a rapidly growing ecosystem around Parallels's SaaS platform and products for global delivery of a wide range of services over the web. His areas of responsibility also include the integration of recently acquired companies in the System and Billing Automation software space as well as the International Service Providers business unit. Previously, as Director of Sales & Marketing at Yippi-Yeah! E-Business, Mr. von Varchmin led the rapid growth of the Confixx brand for web servers, attaining market leadership in Europe in just 2 years. The company was later acquired by Parallels in 2003.
Mr. Thomas leads product marketing, product management and business development for Parallels. He has more than ten years experience leading marketing and technical functions at top companies. Before joining Parallels, he held a number of leadership positions in the Microsoft Server and Tools division. Most recently, he led the product planning effort to define Microsoft's Data Platform and Storage strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Thomas led SQL Server's enterprise marketing team, including the worldwide launch of SQL Server 2005. Earlier, he was a management consultant for Deloitte Consulting, focusing on technology and operations at large multinational banks. Mr. Thomas holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A from Harvard University, where he graduated with high distinction.
Mr. Riolo leads the overall sales efforts for the recruitment and management of Parallels Service Provider Accounts focused in the Americas, UK and Australia regions. Mike has more than 10 years of sales and management experience working in various software and Internet related companies. Previous to Parallels, he was Director of Network Sales at Cable & Wireless USA where he managed a team selling IP, Data and Security Services to Multi-National and Enterprise Accounts in North America, Europe and Asia. Earlier, Mr. Riolo performed management and senior sales roles at NTT Verio, E-Commerce Industries and UUNET Technologies. He has a BBA in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.
Mr. Protassov currently manages the Parallels development team dedicated to Parallels Desktop, Workstation, Virtuozzo Containers, and Infrastructure Manager. He has also overseen the development of the HSPcomplete solution. Earlier, Mr. Protassav managed several engineering projects for Parallels involving leading software and operating platforms such as Cassandra, an option risk management software, Solomon IV, BeOS, and Pervasive. In 2000, he led the development of ASPLinux, a version of the Linux O/S which is now shipped in three editions in ten countries. He brought to Parallels many years of relevant experience in software engineering in a wide range of development environments such as Windows, Novell Netware and UNIX operating systems. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Mr. Kandikov currently leads the development teams for Plesk products and support company wide. He was one of the founders of Plesk (which Parallels acquired in June of 2003) and from day one was the head of R&D for the company. Since 1999, under his leadership, Plesk has developed and released a line of popular hosting automation solutions including all versions of the well-known and widely deployed Plesk Server Administrator (PSA). Kandikov has 10 years of experience in design and development of information systems as well as project management. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics and a M.Sc degree in Engineering and Information Technologies from Novosibirsk State Technical University. He is a member of the Russian Union of Designers.
Mr. Melnikov currently manages the team of developers working on Parallels's System Automation and Business Automation solutions. Previously, he architected and managed the HSPcomplete solution for nearly 3 years. Melnikov has in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in Internet technologies, Internet applications design and development, e-business and hosting automation solutions. He has managed several engineering projects for Parallels, including the release of version 2.8 of the Solomon IV software, the e-commerce application for Pervasive South East Asia. Under his management, Parallels's Web portals ASPstreet.com and HSPstreet.com performed well within the target markets, giving rise to a powerful search engine. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Mr. Dobrovolskiy leads the engineering and technical strategies for Parallels virtualization and tools. He has more than ten years experience developing virtualization solutions and is a self-made entrepreneur who began as a developer with Parallels' core virtualization team in 1999. He quickly rose through the ranks to become CEO in 2003. After selling Parallels to SWsoft, Mr. Dobrovolskiy stayed on as CEO of the Parallels subsidiary, leading Sales, Marketing and Engineering. He has led the business to significant success with the award-winning Parallel Desktop for Mac. Mr. Dobrovolskiy graduated from the Moscow University of Radiotechnics, Electronics and Automation.
Mr. Tormasov is Parallels's Chief Scientist and main ideologist of Parallels Virtuozzo Container technology for all platforms. As an associated professor at MIPT and the Deputy Chair of Computer Science at MIPT, Mr. Tormasov is in charge of all advanced computer science education. He works with ten post-graduate students in the development of distributed Internet-wide, peer-to-peer decentralized data storage, OS virtualization and advanced 3D visualization algorithms. Mr. Tormasov has published more than 40 articles in various academic scientific journals. He holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics with Summa Cum Laude and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from MIPT.
Mr. Kuznetsov has been a key Linux kernel developer since 1995 and is the Chief Software Engineer for Parallels. He brings resident knowledge in Network protocols to Parallels, in addition to Internet routing, traffic control, quality of service, TCP, IPv6, independent networking transport and high speed networking. Recent projects include the zero copying framework for the Linux 2.4 kernel. Currently, Kuznetsov authors portions of the Linux kernel networking code and maintains the Linux kernel networking core (TCP/IP and IPv6), the IP routing and traffic control in addition to several utilities. He holds a M.Sc. in Physics from Moscow State University and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute for Nuclear Research.
